More Than Therapy
An online workshop for Therapists
with Elsie Owen + Charlotte Braithwaite
Friday 7th June | 10am - 1pm | Recording available
Discover how you can diversify your private practice and move towards a more sustainable, fulfilling and rewarding way of working.
After years training and months building a client base, it's an achievement in itself to get up and running with your own private practice.
And yet, often the fantasy (well it was ours!) that working solely 1:1 will be a sustainable and fulfilling business model is not quite the reality that transpires…
With research showing increasing numbers of therapists reporting burnout, it doesn’t take long to realise that providing just 1:1 therapy can become emotionally taxing and financially limiting.
So, whether you're an established therapist reaching a threshold of exhaustion, knowing something needs to change, or you're thinking ahead about how you want to shape your business from the get-go (we applaud you!)
Finding ways to diversify the way you work can bring both financial abundance and personal fulfilment without diminishing the hugely valuable therapy you offer.
Meet Elsie + Charlotte
As Psychotherapists and Mentors for fellow therapists, we met in 2020 through the Network for Younger Counsellors and Psychotherapists (NYCP), and quickly found friendship and camaraderie.

We confided about the different ways we were trying to bring 'more than therapy' into our practices and our shared desires to earn more, feel more fulfilled by our work and build a financially sustainable model for our businesses.

Fast-forward to today and we have achieved diversity in different ways, each now enjoying multiple streams of income. We've learned a lot, and have so much to share, about what's feasible, possible and available to us as therapists..more than we ever would have thought!

Part of diversifying for us both has been working with fellow therapists; one theme perpetually comes up - how to diversify - and so, this workshop was born!
Some of this may feel true for you:
-
You LOVE seeing clients 1:1, but doing it all the time isn't as fulfilling as you expected.

-
You sense the financial limitations of working completely 1:1 and the financial 'ceiling' of 1:1 making up your primary income.

-
You'd like to be able to take holiday or unpaid leave from your practice, without this having an immediate impact on the amount you earn.

-
You think because you ‘only’ trained in 1:1 therapy, this is all you are ‘qualified’ to do and question your capability to offer anything else.

-
You're beginning to spot the signs and symptoms of emotional burnout - relief when clients cancel, resentment around your work, needing the weekend more than you used to…

-
You'd love to explore the different therapy-informed services (workshops, courses etc!) you see other therapists offering, but have no idea how or where to start.
Private practice CAN still be everything you want it to be, it’s just a matter of identifying opportunities to diversify, evolve and thrive!
What to expect from the workshop
We're meeting on Friday 7th June from 10am - 1pm, live on Zoom. If you're unable to join live, please sign up for a space and let us know, so we can make sure we send you the recording.

The workshop is delivered through honest conversation, gentle anecdotal teaching, reflective prompts and collaborative sharing.

We will:

-
Explore why you may choose to diversify, so you can make informed and intentional decisions for the future of your practice.

-
Transparently share the ways in which we have both brought 'more than therapy' into our businesses, to offer 'behind the scenes' insight and an opportunity to ask questions about our experiences.

-
Explore the variety of options available to us as therapists, so you are more aware of the different diversification pathways accessible to you (hugely exciting!)

-
Hold space for you to think about how you can diversify your practice and what might be required, so you leave with clarity around what's next for you and your business.

The first half of the workshop is led by our teaching and sharing, before a more discussion-led second half.
